A trip with a medical itinerary, not a medical itinerary around a trip
A large share of our patients do not live in Los Angeles. We built the calendar for that. The first consult is often virtual: photographs, history, a clear yes/no/not-yet on surgery, and a written list of what must happen before you buy a non-refundable fare. In-person exams still happen when the operation requires them. We will say which visit cannot be a screen.
When you do fly in, we stack what can be stacked: labs, hair-removal sessions, pre-op, surgery, and the first follow-ups. We will not stack a eight-hour FFS day with a genital operation because the airfare was cheaper that week. The itinerary serves the medicine.
Lodging: we share a short list of nearby hotels that have worked for surgical patients (quiet, elevator, late checkout when we ask). For heavier recoveries, the private recovery retreat is the honest alternative to an Airbnb and a hope. You should not dilate or manage drains from a hostel bunk.
Insurance does not pay for flights. It may pay for the surgery and a medically necessary recovery stay. We help you see that split early. Out-of-state Medi-Cal is not the same as California Medi-Cal; we will tell you if your plan actually travels.
