Body Masculinization in Los Angeles

Body masculinization in Los Angeles

Liposuction and torso contouring that reduce hip and waist curves testosterone did not take. Planned with chest surgery when both belong on the calendar.

The approach

Silhouette work that is not a substitute for top surgery

Body masculinization here means shaping the torso: flanks, abdomen, hips, and sometimes inner thighs, so clothing sits on a straighter line. It is liposuction and, when indicated, fat grafting to the chest or shoulders. It is not top surgery. Patients who need both should hear a sequence, not a promise that suction will flatten a chest that needs reconstruction.

Dr. David N. Sayah, MD plans this the way he plans feminizing contouring: where fat actually sits, what the skin will do, and what another operation nearby will do to the same field. Doing aggressive hip lipo the same week as double incision is often unwise. We would rather give you two clean recoveries than one chaotic one.

California plans may cover medically necessary body contouring as gender-affirming care; many still treat some liposuction as uncovered. We will say which parts of your plan are likely to authorize and quote the rest. Financing: /insurance/financing/. Compare with gender-affirming body contouring if your goals are feminizing.

Procedures

Typical areas

01

Flank and hip liposuction

Reducing the curve that reads as a waist-to-hip ratio you do not want.

02

Abdominal etching within honest limits

Definition only where there is something to define. We will not draw abs on a canvas that cannot hold them.

03

Fat grafting to chest or shoulder

When a little volume helps a masculinized frame after or instead of implants. Timed with top surgery if both are planned.

04

Thigh contouring

Inner-thigh fullness that changes how trousers hang. Skin quality decides whether suction is enough.

What to expect

What to expect.

01

Exam in standing and sitting

Fat that bothers you in a chair is not always the fat that shows in photos. We look at both.

02

Sequence with top surgery

Same anesthetic only when the fields and the compression garments do not fight. Otherwise, two dates.

03

Compression and follow-up

Garments are part of the result. We tell you how long, not a vague 'a few weeks.'

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Will liposuction replace top surgery?

No. Chest reconstruction removes breast tissue and reshapes the skin envelope. Lipo can refine the torso around that result. It cannot do the same job.

Can this be combined with hysterectomy?

Sometimes on a carefully chosen date, more often not. Abdominal work plus pelvic surgery is a lot of recovery in one body. We decide in consult.

Does insurance cover body masculinization?

Some plans cover medically necessary gender-affirming contouring; many authorize only part. We itemise and pre-authorize what we can. Uncovered portions can be self-pay or financed.
