Required genital or donor-site clearance is often a medical benefit. Cosmetic packages are not.
The approach
When electrolysis is required so vaginoplasty or a phalloplasty flap can proceed, many Medi-Cal, LA Care, IEHP, and private plans treat it as medically necessary. We still have to authorize it.
Cosmetic facial or body series are quoted separately and should not be bundled into a surgical claim. See pricing and pre-authorization.
