Laser hair reduction
Permanent hair reduction on appropriate hair and skin. Not a synonym for electrolysis.
What laser can and cannot do
Laser is efficient when the follicle has pigment the device can see. It is permanent hair reduction: fewer, finer hairs over a series, not a guarantee that every follicle is gone. We will not call it permanent hair removal. That language is reserved for electrolysis.
For darker skin tones, wavelength and fluence matter. Contrast between hair and skin is what makes a setting safe or not. We would rather refuse a setting than burn skin to chase speed. Gray, blonde, red, and very fine hair usually need electrolysis, not another laser pass.
We choose a device and setting in person. This page does not name a manufacturer or a fluence, because those are not marketing copy.
Surgical patients often use laser for bulk reduction, then electrolysis for the mapped clearance the operating room actually needs. See combination protocols.
What this involves
Technology and devices
We choose a device and setting for your skin and hair, not a brand name on a poster.
Darker skin tones
Safer parameters, longer intervals, and an honest stop if the contrast is not there.
Surgical sequencing
Quiet skin before an incision. We will not laser a field the week of surgery.
